We started the day a little later than we have been the last few. We slept in until 6:30! We were slow getting ready and on the road too. We left Calgary, Alberta about 9:30 and headed north. We stopped off in Edmonton and went to the World's Largest Mall - West Edmonton Mall. It is amazing. Inside this mall was over 800 stores (some were doubled and we didn't even buy anything), 100 restaurants, 2 hotels, an indoor water park, an ice skating rink, 2 18 hole miniature golf courses, Sea Lion stage and cavern, Palace Casino, Galaxyland Amusement Park (complete with 2 huge roller coasters) and finally an IMAX theatre. After leaving the mall we continued north and west and stopped in a little town called Valleyview. We are about 73 miles west of Grande Prairie, Alberta. Tomorrow we plan to make it to Fort St. John, British Columbia which is only about 200 miles from where we are, but we have some site seeing we want to do. I have attached a few pics of the mall and one of the country side below. The further north we get the more snow we see, it really is pretty. Oh yeah, we did NOT see any wildlife today - what a bummer.

Sounds like today was a little better (except for the lack of wildlife, that is!). Anyway, we are praying that things go smoothly the rest of the way, and that all will be worth it! You have snow, we have sand, sun, and surf -- go figure...Have a great time, and most of all be thankful for each other and the small things each day! Lots of love, Mom and Bryant
ReplyDeleteCool pics, sis. I saw a segment on a Travel Channel show not long ago about the wave pool pictured above. I'm glad to read that your trip is going well. The girls say hello, and Anna Cate just wished you a safe trip. Love, Rob
